FSU football fans had their reservations in regards to the inconsistencies in wide receiver Johnny Wilson after his performance against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, where he did not record a reception.
Wilson left the contest last week after having multiple drops (some individuals say that it could have been an injury issue). However, the Arizona State transfer was the Seminoles’ leading pass catcher, where he had four receptions for 105 yards.

Much of the discussion has centered around his fellow teammate Keon Coleman, who did not have a statistical impact in the Boston College game.
FSU needed the 6’7” playmaking ability of Wilson to be featured in the offensive scheme.

Thankfully, he did not disappoint, recording four receptions for 105 yards.
After his performance against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, FSU fans were ready to turn the page on Wilson since he seemed to have lost so much confidence in his ability to catch the football.

As I alluded to in a previous article, I mentioned the importance of not losing hope on him and ensuring that confidence should be exemplified early on in the Boston College contest. The truth of the matter is that the Seminoles will certainly need him against the likes of the Clemson Tigers, who they have not beaten since 2014.

If this team wants to get where it want to go in terms of championship aspiration, Wilson needs to be a pivotal piece in their offensive scheme. Plus, it certainly has to give quarterback Jordan Travis a sense of comfort to be able to have a high probability of keeping the chains moving with throwing it in the direction of the big-bodied receiver.

While Wilson will be battling targets with the likes of playmakers such as Keon Coleman, Winston Wright Jr., and Jaheim Bell, fans needs to continue trust in him as he continues to build confidence in himself.
