FSU football: Which TV announcers will call Boston College game?
By Kelvin Hunt
Did you watch FSU football against Southern Mississippi on the ACC Network last week? If you did, you sat through over three hours of TV announcers butchering player names and graphics of players with the wrong pictures.
I have great news for you FSU football fans! That will not be the case during Saturday’s game against Boston College, airing on ABC at noon.
The broadcast trio will be Dave Pasch, Dusty Dvoracek, and Tom Luginbill. Pasch is a graduate of the well-respected S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse, Dusty Dvoracek and Tom Luginbill are former college players, with Dvoracek playing in the NFL for four seasons as a defensive lineman.
Luginbill is a former college quarterback and spent time as the National Recruiting Director for ESPN’s college football recruiting service Scouts, Inc. Also, the game will air on ABC, which has much better production value, plus the commercial won’t be as cheesy.
I know it seems petty, but having good announcers for games that may not be competitive is a good thing instead of having to sit through hours of guys that don’t seem to have a clue about what they’re doing.
The complaints from FSU fans on social media were loud and numerous during and after Saturday night’s game against Southern Mississippi, so I thought I’d let you know who the announcers would be for the Boston College game.
Also, having two guys that played college football at a high level should be an added bonus to the commentary as they unpack what’s happening in the game. Lucikly, FSU’s next game against Clemson will also air on ABC.
FSU fans will have back-to-back weeks of not having to sit through the torture of ACC Network commentary, commercials, and the lack of production. Be sure to check our our Boston College coverage on the site.
