FSU football has caught the college football world by storm after defeating the LSU Tigers in commanding fashion by a score of 45-24, then the Southern Miss Golden Eagles by a score of 66-13 on a shorter game week.

The Seminoles are now preparing to open ACC play against the Boston College Eagles in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts (barring the weather).

While the football team focuses on Boston College, it is difficult not to be tempted to look ahead to their next matchup after the Eagles, which is against the Clemson Tigers.

The Seminoles have not defeated Clemson since 2014. Former quarterback Jameis Winston was still on campus at the time and suspended for the entire game due to an off-the-field incident. FSU football went on to win the game by a score of 23-17 in overtime.

That was also the last year FSU football won the ACC. Clemson has won seven out of the last eight conference championships, and they have been viewed as the football team to beat.

Unfortunately for the Tigers’ sake, they lost their 2023 season opener against the Duke Blue Devils by a score of 28-7, which has individuals wondering the following question: Has head football coach Dabo Swinney and company officially taken a step down as a program?

This season’s matchup of Florida State versus Clemson in Death Valley was projected to potentially be a College Game Day, given the excitement of both programs heading into the year.

However, with the Tigers’ opening loss, the game seems to have lost its luster with the announcement that it would be a noon kickoff.

The Seminole Boosters even sent out an email to boosters that Clemson Athletics usually assigns 1,300 tickets for FSU in their lower-level sections, but that number has got reduced to 500 seats in the upper deck sections.

To add insult to injury, the Marching Chiefs will not travel to Clemson, South Carolina, for the game. It looks as though the Tigers are attempting to get every advantage in a game they desperately need to win for any hope of making it to the ACC Championship game this year.
