Can FSU football win the 2024 College Football Playoffs or National Title? The topic is something I discussed in a video I made on the Built For Playmakers YouTube channel before the season began.

I laid out the challenges the Noles would face in the regular season and what they would need to do to make it to the ACC Championship game.

The two biggest challenges were the LSU game in week one and the Clemson game in week four. We know FSU demolished LSU 45-24 a few nights ago, and Clemson suffered an upset loss against Duke in their week one matchup.

Those two scenarios increase the probability of FSU going undefeated and winning the ACC Championship for the first time since the 2014 season. If that comes to fruition, they’ll be one of the top four teams in the College Football Playoffs.

At that point, it’s a two-game season to become national champions, and oddsmakers have reflected that in the latest odds on who has the best shot to win the 2024 National Championship. Before the season, FSU was around +2000, which meant if you bet $100, you would have won $2,000. There was some value in that bet.

The odds for FSU football have decreased after the LSU win. I’ve seen the Noles at +1200, +1000, and as low as +750, which puts them among the odds on favorites to win the 2024 National Title, along with Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State.

There’s still some value with the Noles here, and there’s a lot of football left to determine who’ll make the College Football Playoff. Alabama has a tough slate of games left, and I think the odds of losing only one game are low.

Michigan will play Penn State(away) and Ohio State in the regular season. Georgia has a fairly easy schedule this season, and Ohio State has to play Notre Dame, Penn State, and Michigan.

I’d wager that FSU and Georgia have the easiest path to the playoffs, and from there, it’s all about the matchups.
