Reason 3 for Winning 12 Games: The Schedule

I know FSU football fans want to get out of this raggedy ACC Conference. However, playing in this conference affords FSU an easier overall schedule (although they usually play some tougher out-of-conference teams too) in the season. I’ve said it several times.

If FSU defeats Clemson in week four, they should walk into the ACC Championship game undefeated if they can get past LSU in week one.

Obviously, if they lost in week one, they wouldn’t win 12 regular-season games. The point is the schedule doesn’t offer many scenarios where FSU should come out on the losing end. It’s a tough opener against LSU and a tough road game against Clemson.

However, FSU beat LSU pretty much on the road last year in the Superdome. They have played Clemson tough the past two years with lesser-talented teams. LSU has several question marks, as does Clemson.

The rest of the schedule is less talented or has a new QB, new OC, or a combination of the above.
