Reason 1 for Losing 3: Bad Injury Luck

I mentioned FSU having the best roster depth for quite some time. However, injuries are still a part of the game and often impact teams, especially as the season progresses.

Jordan Travis has a documented injury history and finally made it through a full season without missing a game.

However, he missed the second half against Louisville with an injury, which allowed Tate Rodemaker to show what he can do in back-up duty.

Travis has done a great job playing smarter and doesn’t have to depend on his legs as much in the early days, meaning fewer hits.

However, should he miss time, especially early in the season, that could affect this team quite a bit. Maurice Smith is also a valuable piece on the offensive line at the center position.

FSU has a capable backup in Darius Washington, but Smith missing time could affect things in a negative fashion. The same goes for any of the key playmakers at the skill positions.
