Wide Receiver Depth

I think it goes without saying, Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman will start at wide receiver for the Noles in 2023. The question is which remaining receivers will step up and claim the other snaps remaining.

I don’t want to label guys as outside or slot receivers because they’ll likely move guys around to take advantage of matchups that present themselves. The position that was worst in the ACC in 2021 has an abundance of riches going into the 2023 season. Here’s a list of guys vying to become consistent contributors:

  • Kentron Poitier
  • Winston Wright Jr.
  • Darion Williamson
  • Destyn Hill
  • Ja’Khi Douglas
  • Vandrevius Jacobs
  • Hykeem Williams
  • Deuce Spann

Poitier, Wright, and Douglas have some proven college experience. Jacobs and Williams are freshmen, but Jacobs has looked good since arriving in the spring. Williams in trending in the right direction, and Deuce Spann saw some action early last year, and has game-breaking size and speed.

I’m be listening to the coaches after practices to see if certain names consistently get mentions. Also, which players will show up in the second scrimmage at the end of this week?
