Pass Rush

We have known commodities in Jared Verse and Patrick Payton. However, beyond that, we’ll have to see what we get from Gilber Edmonds, Byron Turner Jr., and JUCO product Jaden Jones.

Edmonds flashed a few times during the first week of fall camp, and I’ve been bullish on what he’ll contribute.

I’ve said many times, I believe playing over 600 snaps last year hurt his production because he likely played gassed most of the time. I’m also curious to see what pass rush the defense will get from the defensive tackles.

Defensive ends off the edge can get nullified by stepping up in the pocket. However, if the defensive tackles can collapse the pocket? It’s a win for the defense most of the time.

FSU has much better depth, with Braden Fiske, Dennis Briggs, Fabien Lovett, and Joshua Farmer all likely playing snaps.

If those guys get pressure up the middle, and the defensive ends bring pressure off the edge? That should result in lots of sacks, rushed throws, and potential turnovers.
