FSU football has seen its defensive recruiting efforts pick up in the last couple of weeks with the additions of five-star cornerback Charles Lester III and five-star safety KJ Bolden.
However, the Seminoles would still like to acquire more talented prospects on the defensive line.

As of now, FSU has secured the commitments of four-star defensive end DD Holmes and three-star defensive tackle Jamorie Flagg.
With that said, the coaching staff would like to acquire at least two more defensive linemen in their recruiting class. FSU already has 21 commitments in their class, so the acquisitions will be limited.

There is a multitude of defensive linemen on their radar for the 2024 cycle, such as five-star defensive end Kamarion Franklin, four-star defensive end Booker Pickett Jr., four-star defensive tackle LJ McCray, four-star defensive tackle Artavius Jones (Miami commit), three-star defensive tackle D’Nas White, and three-star defensive end Elias Williams.

On Friday afternoon, five-star defensive end Kamarion Franklin from Lake Cormorant (MS) announced that he would be announcing his commitment on August 19th between Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Miami.

With Franklin being a prospect from the state of Mississippi, there were some initial worries about him committing to Ole Miss.

However, the talented defensive end received a crystal ball prediction to the Auburn Tigers on 8/10/2023 with a confidence level of 6 out of 10 from AuburnUndercover Auburn Insider Christian Clemente.

Franklin utilized only two official visits this summer with Miami (June 2-4) and Tennessee (June 16-18). He has unofficially visited the Auburn Tigers twice this summer.

While he hasn’t visited the Seminoles since March 10th, the coaching staff still has an official visit that they could use on the talented defender during the season (preferably during the Miami contest in November). This gives them plenty of time to evaluate the recruiting board at that point in time.

It is also worth mentioning that the Auburn Tigers will be breaking in a new football head coach this upcoming season in Hugh Freeze. It will certainly be interesting to see if the program can perform at an optimal level this season.

Meanwhile, Florida State has heightened expectations where many individuals feel that head football coach Mike Norvell has an opportunity to win an ACC Championship and potentially secure a College Football Playoff berth.
