FSU football: 5 most impactful 2023 transfers this season
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football had some ups and downs in the 2022 recruiting cycle. FSU finished with the No. 16 class overall(only including prep players).
They did some good work on the offensive line early on in the cycle, and rebounded nicely to flip Brock Glenn away from Ohio State after missing on him in the summer.
The additions of five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams and four-star linebacker Blake Nichelson were welcome additions shortly after the 2022 season started.
The staff landed some solid defensive backs and underrated defensive ends.
It was a class that filled many needs, but FSU coaches knew they probably needed to tap into the transfer portal one more time to fill in some gaps on the roster.
FSU coaches added 10 players from the transfer portal before summer practices began and have added a couple since. I don’t expect the last couple to contribute much this year.
The players added before summer were three offensive linemen, three defensive linemen, two tight-ends, a cornerback, and a wide receiver.
Almost all these players were starters or All-Conference players at their previous institutions.
Here are my top 5 most impactful transfer players for the 2023 season.
