Special Teams

Special teams likely cost the Noles at least 1-2 wins last year. They were solid on punting, punt return, and punt return defense.

However, kickoff return and kickoff return defense got caught slipping a few times. The kickoff return allowed in the second half against Clemson was a huge momentum swing. Who will replace Mycah Pittman at punt returner?

Mike Norvell mentioned players like Destyn Hill, Lawrance Toafili, and others. Norvell mentioned Deuce Spann could contribute on kickoff return.

I like that, a big guy with blazing speed? Sign me up. How about the place kicking?

Will Ryan Fitzgerald find some consistency in fall camp and go into the 2023 season with confidence? It was a struggle for him most of the season, but he rebounded somewhat, which showed a great deal of mental toughness.

FSU will need to show improvement on special teams in every facet in 2023.
