FSU football: 2024 three-star OL Jayden Todd commits to FSU
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football head coach Mike Norvell hinted the recruiting fireworks would continue into August, but I’m not sure anyone expected the Noles to get to work this quickly.
FSU offensive line coach Alex Atkins added his fourth offensive line commit Tuesday with the addition of three-star OT Jayden Todd.
Todd earned the offer after competing a the FSU Seminole Showcase Camp over the weekend. It was the second time the coaches saw him compete in person after attending the FSU Elite Camp in early June.
He was also on campus in May and felt comfortable enough to announce his commitment after receiving the offer.
Todd is from Dublin, Georgia, so another product of the Peach State. That’s central Georgia, about an hour’s drive southeast of Macon, GA.
Todd lists at 6’6″ and 315 pounds, with offers from a ton of Ivy League schools. Todd does hold an offer from Virginia Tech. He doesn’t have a composite rating yet, but 247Sports rates him as a three-star and the No. 121 offensive tackle nationally.
Todd has only been playing football for one year, so he’s a developmental guy that will take some time to contribute, which isn’t unusual for most high school offensive linemen.
He’s extremely bright, as evident from the Ivy school offers, which is a plus, and he has good size and length. He’s the type player FSU coaches can afford to take since they already have three highly-touted offensive commits in the 2024 recruiting class.
I wonder if this addition impacts their pursuit of four-star OL Jason Zandamela from a numbers standpoint? I wouldn’t think they would take more than four offensive linemen since this is the 21st commitment in the class.
The Noles have the No. 6 class nationally, with several big time targets remaining on its recruiting board.
