FSU football: Noles trending for 2024 three-star linebacker
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has been hot on the recruiting trails in July and had several big-time recruits on campus this weekend for their Seminole Showcase event.
One player the coaching staff had on campus to pay close attention to was three-star linebacker Timir Hickman-Collins from Fort Mill, South Carolina.
The Noles offered Hickman-Collins on May 10, and wanted to get a closer look with him on campus this weekend.
It looks like the visit went well, as two crystal ball predictions favoring the Noles were published Saturday. Both of the predictions had a confidence of six out of 10.
FSU has one linebacker committed (three-star Jayden Parrish) in the 2024 recruiting class and added Northwestern transfer Justin Cryer (will count towards the 2023 class) earlier this week.
I wasn’t sure FSU would take another linebacker in the 2024 recruiting class, but it looks like it’s possible they will.
I know FSU football fans have not been happy with linebacker recruiting this cycle under FSU linebackers coach Randy Shannon.
Hickman-Collins doesn’t have a composite ranking, but 247Sports ranks him as the No. 82 linebacker and No. 14 player in the Palmetto State.
He lists at 6’1″ and 218 pounds and has a verified 100 meter time of 12.57 in April of this year. His only other Power 5 offer is from Georgia Tech.
I haven’t found any highlights or anything for Hickman-Collins, other than a clip on Twitter. He looked like he ran a 12+ 100 meter dash, which isn’t great. I can’t comment further on what he brings if he were to commit because I haven’t seen him play.
However, the coaches must have liked what they saw enough to potentially give him the green light to commit. I suppose that’s the next step, but getting crystal ball predictions doesn’t mean that’s what will happen.
