FSU football has played, but never beaten, these teams

Speaking of Willie Taggart, this is a perfect segue as FSU opened the 2019 season against Boise State. The game was set to take place in Jacksonville, Florida, but the path of Hurricane Dorrian forced the game to get moved to Doak Campbell Stadium.
It was the first game with new offensive coordinator Kendal Briles, and FSU wasted no time building a 31-13 lead in the second quarter and a 31-19 lead at halftime.
However, I’m not sure many FSU fans felt confident with how things looked going into the half. The FSU offense went scoreless in the second half, with Boise State scoring 17 second-half points to win 36-31.
The game was filled with a comedy of errors, and Boise State started a true freshman quarterback. Boise State had THREE turnovers and still on the game as the FSU offense went 1-12 on third downs.
It was an inexcusable loss and likely the beginning of the end, as FSU barely squeaked past Louisiana-Monroe in overtime the following week.
Thank God those bad times are over and the expectations for FSU football are back to where they are supposed to be.
