Wyoming

0-1. 1966. . . 804. . 1-0. 903

This is another game that took place way back in the day before many of us were born. I don’t know what it is, but FSU’s history in the Sun Bowl is lackluster to say the list.

The Noles earned a bid to the Sun Bowl to take on Wyoming after finishing the regular season 6-4.

This game also took place in El Paso, Texas, with the Noles losing 28-20. It was FSU head coach Bill Peterson’s seventh season.

Peterson had a rough start in his first four seasons, never winning more than four games before finally breaking through for nine wins in 1964.

The 1966 team was a slight improvement after going 4-5-1 in 1965, but was the start of winning at least six games for the next five seasons before the Peterson era ended.
