FSU football has one linebacker prospect committed to their 2024 recruiting class, with three-star Jayden Parrish from Atlantic High School in Delray Beach, Florida.

Parrish was a very solid acquisition for the Seminoles’ coaching staff as he collected 153 total tackles and four sacks during his junior season.

However, FSU will have to replace the likes of redshirt seniors Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune after the 2023 season. While players such as redshirt junior DJ Lundy and redshirt freshman Omar Graham Jr. will likely shoulder a heavier load in 2024, the Seminoles still like to add depth to the position.

Linebackers coach Randy Shannon was able to bring in three talented linebacker prospects from the 2023 recruiting cycle, with four-star Blake Nichelson, three-star DeMarco Ward, and three-star Dylan Brown-Turner.

However, both Nichelson and Brown-Turner were summer enrollees, so it could take them time to get adjusted to the collegiate game early on in their respective careers.

Sophomore tight end Brian Courtney has also moved to the linebacker position for needed depth. This move likely allows the former tight end to showcase his skillset at his new position as well as give the youngsters more time to develop.

FSU fans always discuss linebacker recruiting when it comes to the Seminoles. The good news is that the position took a positive step forward last year, as Tatum Bethune was second on the team in total tackles (84), while Kalen DeLoach was third (65).

Considering Bethune and DeLoach Will finish their collegiate careers after this upcoming season, FSU needs to continue acquiring talent.

With that said, the linebacker recruiting target board for the 2024 recruiting cycle is a bit underwhelming. However, three-star Timir Hickman-Collins from Indian Land High School in Fort Mill, South Carolina, has emerged as a prospect to monitor.

He lists at 6’1” and 218 pounds. Hickman-Collins unofficially visited the Seminoles during their Garnet and Gold Showcase on April 15th. The coaching staff finally pulled the trigger on offering the prospect on May 10th.

He expects to be in attendance for the Seminoles’ recruiting event that will be taking place on July 29th. I believe that FSU has a great opportunity to acquire his services if they like what they see from Hickman-Collins.
