FSU football: Top 15 important defensive players for 2023 season
By Kelvin Hunt
Tatum Bethune
You’re probably not surprised to find Tatum Bethune next on the list, and you may wonder why I have him ahead of DeLoach. It’s simple, Bethune has been the more productive player between the two.
He had 20 more tackles than DeLoach last season, and it was his first year in Adam Fuller’s defense.
Not to mention, Bethune played most of the year with a bum shoulder. Bethune was second on the team with 84 tackles and 9.5 tackles for a loss.
He also had three sacks and three passes defended. Bethune shows great instincts in the run game, often shooting gaps to make plays near the line of scrimmage.
I expect him to shine even more with the improved defensive line. Here’s to hoping we can get him as close to 100 percent healthy for the entire season as possible.
