FSU football: 2024 blue-chip OL Jonathan Daniels commits to Noles

FSU football had no offensive linemen committed going into Thursday, with two other blue-chip targets committing to USC in recent weeks.

I said at the time I had no worries with Alex Atkins because he always has a plan, and part of that plan came to fruition on a day destined for fireworks.

Blue-chip offensive lineman and top player Jonathan Daniels announced his commitment to the Noles.

Daniels had been trending to the Noles over the past  few weeks and officially visited FSU on the massive June 23 weekend, with a ton of other blue-chip recruits and commits.

Daniels hails from nearby Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Florida. He ranks as the No. 104 player and the No. 5 interior offensive lineman nationally.

He also ranks as the No. 15 player in the Sunshine State and continues the trend of Florida or Georgia players committed in the 2024 recruiting class.

Daniels lists at 6’3″ and 280 pounds and committed to FSU over Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn, Florida, and Miami.

Many recruiting analysts have mentioned it has been a weaker offensive line recruiting class overall in 2024, so FSU grabbing one ranked in the top 100 speaks to the recruiting prowess of Alex Atkins.

FSU planned to be selective in this recruiting cycle and will likely look to take 1-2 more offensive linemen from the high school ranks. One other high school target is three-star offensive tackle, Tye Hylton.

Hylton officially visited alongside Daniels and expects to make a decision this summer.

If FSU can land Hylton, they can afford to be extra selective with remaining targets, and who knows, could make some things shake if they have the season on the field everyone expects.
