Linebackers Much Better Than 2022

I’m excited about what this unit will bring to the table in 2023. It will be the best blend of talent, experience, and depth at this position since the 2015-16 seasons.

FSU returns both starters in Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune. It’ll be Bethune’s second year in the defense, which should help. DJ Lundy progressed as a linebacker last season, and FSU looks to count on redshirt freshman Omar Graham Jr. a lot more in 2023.

FSU lost depth pieces like Amari Gainer, Brenden Gant, and Stephen Dix Jr. to the transfer portal. However, Gainer missed several games with injury, and Dix missed all last season with an injury.

FSU enrolled several freshman linebackers who likely won’t play much this year unless the game’s in garbage time.

However, FSU only plays two linebackers most of the time, and the experience of DeLoach, Bethune, and Lundy is better than what they had last year. If we add that to better play in the trenches? FSU linebackers should impact games more in 2023 with tackles for a loss, etc.
