4-Star. . DE. Wharton HS, Tampa, FL. BOOKER PICKETT JR.

Four-star DE Booker Pickett Jr.

FSU football has one defensive end prospect committed to its 2024 recruiting class, four-star Daniel “DD” Holmes. However, the Seminoles are far from done with acquiring more talent at that position, as they will likely be losing redshirt junior Jared Verse to the NFL at the end of the 2023 season.

One of the top remaining uncommitted targets is four-star Booker Pickett Jr. from Wharton High School in Tampa (FL). The Seminoles suffered a bit of a setback after four-star Dylan Stephenson unexpectedly committed to the Stanford Cardinal after an early official visit in June.

With that said, it doesn’t Pickett Jr. is just some backup plan. The talented defensive end has been very productive during his time at Wharton High School, as he recorded 56 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 30 sacks (yes, 30 sack, that was not a typo).

The Seminoles have stiff competition for him as teams such as Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, USC, and Texas A&M, among others, are vying for his services. But FSU is still pursuing heavily as he unofficially visited campus on June 21st with his younger brother. The plan will likely be to get him in on an official visit during the season.
