FSU football and its 2024 recruiting class is already off to a fast start as there has been four commitments during the month of July.

To makes matters even better, there are some targeted prospects that will be making their decisions this summer such as five-star cornerback Charles Lester III (July 28th), four-star running back Micahi Danzy (July 15th), and three-star cornerback Kevin Levy (July 15th).

On Wednesday morning, that list became even larger as four-star cornerback target Jalewis Solomon from Schley County High School in Ellaville, Georgia announced that he will be making his commitment on August 5th.

Solomon will focus on five schools: Florida State, Kentucky, Auburn, South Carolina, and Texas A&M.

He officially visited South Carolina (June 2-4), Kentucky (June 16-18), and Florida State (June 23-25) during the month of June. He also utilized unofficial visits to Auburn and Texas A&M.

As I mentioned, the talented defensive back officially visited FSU football during the loaded June 23rd recruiting weekend. This recruiting weekend featured many highly-touted prospects on campus. At the conclusion of the visit, he named Florida State the number one school in his recruitment.

This news should bode well for the Seminoles, considering they are the leaders in his recruitment. However, during exit meetings with a variety of media members, he explained that he wanted to potentially visit Auburn before making a decision.

However, those plans have changed, as Florida State will have to worry about the South Carolina Gamecocks down the stretch. Solomon will be taking an unofficial visit to Columbia on July 28th, right at a week before he announces his decision, which certainly does not give fans the warm and fuzzies.

The Seminoles have one cornerback prospect committed to their 2024 recruiting class, four-star Ricky Knight III from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. Can the Noles do enough to maintain their lead?
