Final Thoughts

It was incredibly important to get this commitment. FSU has a couple of more defensive end targets remaining: Booker Pickett Jr., LJ McCray(though he will likely become a DT), and the recently offered four-star edge player Jayshawn Ross.

FSU has some young talent behind Jared Verse, Patrick Payton, and Gilber Edmond, but it’s unproven. Many of those players need more time in the strength and conditioning programy, so it’s important to land a couple of quality edge rushers every recruiting cycle.

The staff got Pickett Jr. on campus for an unofficial visit a couple of weeks ago and offered his younger brother. He’ll likely take his official visits during the season.

FSU will battle Georgia, Ohio State, and Miami for his services. He has family ties to Miami, and Ohio St. LJ McCray has an official visit set for the Virginia Tech game, and we’ll see if the staff tries to get Ross to visit.

I’d like to see them get at least one more defensive end in this class. However, there’s always the transfer portal where they’ve dominated for excellent defensive ends. The only question is, would there be one if they went that route.
