Five-star CB Charles Lester III

Could the five-star defensive back be the worst-kept secret in terms of being an FSU lean? Lester III is at the top of their target board for uncommitted prospects. With redshirt seniors Renardo Green and Jarrian Jones exceeding their eligibilities after this season, the Seminoles need to retool their defensive back rotation.

Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. is still looking for his first commitment since being hired on January 18, 2023. While the Seminoles have four-star safety CJ Heard from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia, committed to the fold, they still would like to add more prospects in their class.

Lester III will choose between four schools on July 28th, (the commitment ceremony was moved to that date; previously scheduled for the 29th): Florida State, Alabama, Colorado, and Georgia.
Due to personal reasons, he canceled his official visit with the Georgia Bulldogs for the weekend of June 23rd. He previously officially visited Alabama (June 2-4), Colorado (June 9-11), and Florida State (June 16-18).

The Seminoles will be the last visit taken before deciding, which bodes well for head football coach Mike Norvell and company. I understand that FSU fans are a bit nervous about head football coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes due to him flipping five-star cornerback Travis Hunter from Florida State to Jackson State on Early Signing Day.

However, the Seminoles’ coaching staff has done a nice job building a strong relationship with the talented defensive back. He currently has five crystal ball predictions for Florida State.
