FSU football: 4-star RB Micahi Danzy names FSU his leader
FSU football has made it clear that they would like another running back prospect in their 2024 recruiting class to pair alongside four-star Kameron Davis from Dougherty High School in Albany, Georgia.
Is Danzy the missing piece to the puzzle?
"Four-star Micahi Danzy from Florida State University University in Tallahassee, Florida, has emerged as the premier target that they want."
During his junior season, he had 1,809 yards and 17 touchdowns. He is also participates in track and field where he ran a 10.89 in the 100-meter dash. It is expected Danzy will compete in both sports if he were to choose the Seminoles.
Dynamic duo?
Four-stars Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy could be a perfect pairing for one another. Davis could be more of your between-the-tackles type of runner with physicality, while Danzy could be more of a speedster that stretches the opposing defense by running outside the tackles and catching passes out of the backfield.
Danzy to FSU?
The hometown product has visited the Seminoles on multiple occasions (three times in the last two months). Arch-rivals Miami and Florida have continued to be in communication with the talented playmaker. However, he has only scheduled an official visit with FSU thus far.
Given that the recruiting dead period will take place from June 27, 2023- July 24, 2023, it will be difficult for the Hurricanes or Gators to get involved. During the dead period, coaches may not have any in-person contact with recruits and/or their parents.
At the conclusion of his official visit with the Seminoles, Danzy met with various members of the media and stated that FSU is the leader in his recruitment.
Analysis
Some individuals might think that Florida State should have the advantage in his recruitment given that he is a Tallahassee native, but the Seminoles have struggled in recent memory of keeping the hometown products at FSU.
Danzy will likely decide before his senior year begins. The coaching staff would like to close on some of these recruitments to generate some momentum going into what looks to be a special 2023 season for the Seminoles.
