FSU football: 2024 WR Elijah Moore sets July 4th commitment date
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has three wide receiver commits in its 2024 recruiting class, with several high-quality options left to choose from. One of those options, four-star Elijah Moore, officially visited the Noles during their huge recruiting weekend and came away impressed.
He named the Noles his leader after the visit and announced a commitment date for July 4th. That date looks to be a popular date among FSU targets, with four-star Kylan Fox and four-star James Madison also choosing that day to announce their decisions.
They were all in Tallahassee for their official visit over the past few days.
Moore’s decision will come down between FSU football and Ohio State. The Maryland native had Ohio State as his leader prior to the FSU official visit and receiver two crystal ball predictions there in early June.
He’s different from the three FSU receiver commits, listed at 6’4″ and 190 pounds.
He ranks as the No. 431 player and the No. 63 receiver nationally. I wouldn’t let that ranking fool anyone because Ohio State doesn’t recruit slouches at the receiver position.
It’ll be interesting to see how receiver recruiting plays out. FSU commit Tawaski Abrams has been flirting heavily with Florida before officially visiting FSU this weekend. FSU receiver commit Lawayne McCoy hasn’t been back to campus since committing in April.
FSU has other targets like Joshisa Trader, James Madison II, and Zion Ragins(who officially visited this weekend) in the mix also. Would FSU take five receivers in this recruiting cycle? I think FSU coaches feel good about receiver commits Camdon Frier and BJ Gibson and will let the other 2-3 spots work themselves out.
If they accept commitments from Madison and Moore, that could ultimately help Abrams and McCoy make their decisions. I think we’ll know in the next week or two how these recruitments play out, with FSU holding a spot for Trader. Stay tuned because there could be a lot of fireworks in July!
