1. WR Winston Wright Jr.

FSU wide receivers coach Ron Dugans did not acquire a prospect during the 2022 cycle. As a result, he went to the portal and picked up four transfers in Johnny Wilson (Arizona State), Mycah Pittman Jr. (Oregon), Winston Wright Jr. (West Virginia), and Deuce Spann (Illinois).

Winston Wright Jr. was the most productive out of the bunch. During the 2021 season with the Mountaineers, he had 63 receptions for 688 yards and five touchdowns. He also made his presence known in special teams, where Wright Jr. had 25 kickoff returns for 618 yards and one touchdown.

Unfortunately, he was involved in a car accident in March 2022 that caused him to miss the entire season. The Seminoles were missing a slot wide receiver who could also be a weapon in special teams. Luckily for FSU, redshirt junior Mycah Pittman Jr. emerged for them.

Pittman Jr. finished the 2022 season with 32 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned 19 punts for 169 yards. The former Oregon transfer was a “glue guy” for the Seminoles for his ability to block with reliable hands made him an unforgettable player. However, the playmaker underwent hip surgery this offseason, which had a 4-6 month timetable. Then he went on to play his final season with the Utah Utes.

FSU has plenty of talented options at his position with Johnny Wilson, Keon Coleman, Winston Wright Jr., Deuce Spann, Kentron Poitier, JaKhi Douglas, Josh Burrell, Darion Williamson, Hykeem Williams, Vandrevius Jacobs, Goldie Lawrence, and Destyn Hill. While there are mouths to feed in the offense, I believe that Winston Wright Jr. is itching to get back on the field from his season-ending injury and prove that the Seminoles’ coaching staff made the right decision in bringing him in.
