FSU football: LSU game in Orlando is 100 days away

FSU football is 100 days away from taking on the LSU Tigers in a top-10 neutral site showdown in Orlando, Florida (Camping World Stadium). The game will take place on Sunday, September 3.
What’s not to get excited about?

During the last season’s matchup, it came down to the wire as redshirt freshman safety Shyheim Brown blocked the Tigers’ game-tying extra point that would have forced the contest to go into overtime.

This result changed the landscape of college football.

The No. 10 LSU Tigers faced the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide for a primetime matchup in Death Valley on November 5, 2022.

The Tigers were down by a score of 31-24 in overtime, and QB Jayden Daniels rushed in a 25-yard touchdown to pull LSU to within one point (the score was 31-30) of the Crimson Tide.

First-year head football coach Brian Kelly decided to go for the two-point conversion this time instead of running the risk of getting the PAT attempt blocked once again.

LSU was successful in their two-point try and won the game, which knocked the Crimson Tide out of College Football Playoff contention.

Fast forward to the 2023 season, the Seminoles seem determined with their ultimate goal of reaching the title game. However, with a difficult month of September, which features both LSU and Clemson, FSU has to stay focused.

Some consider this LSU game one of the most important ones in recent memory. If the Seminoles could possess a 3-1 record, it could give them the much-needed confidence to make those goals a reality.

Head football coach Mike Norvell wants his team to embrace expectations, and FSU is considered a trendy pick heading into 2023. Can the Seminoles take the next step as a college football program?
