With the FSU basketball roster mostly set for the Seminoles, I look for Hamilton and his staff to possibly add a big man to the mix.

The staff has already added two guards and a forward via the portal. There are not a ton of great post prospects left that fit FSU’s style, but there are three that I have identified as possibilities.

1. 7-3, 230lbs, ★★★. C. Oral Roberts. CONNOR VANOVER

Scouting Report: Connor started his career at Cal, then transferred to Arkansas, where he played sparingly for two seasons and never found his footing. In 2022 he transferred to Oral Roberts, where he started to come into his own, averaging 25 min,12.7 pts, and 7.2 rebounds. Vanover is solid defensively and has shot-blocking ability. He also is over 80% from the free-throw line.

Where he fits at FSU: He would be the only true center on the roster but would likely be a rotational player at first who would help on defense.

2. 6-11, 235lbs, Unranked as a prospect. PF. North Dakota State. GRANT NELSON

Scouting Report: Grant is a very talented forward with three seasons at North Dakota State, where he improved his play each season. Nelson averaged 30 min, 17.9 pts, 9.3 rebounds per game. He was first-team all-defense in the Summit League last season. He can step out behind the arc and hit a three, as he was 26.9% from there. Grant is currently at the NBA Combine, and depending on his grade there, he may not be available.

Where he fits at FSU: I like Grant a lot in FSU’s scheme with his defense and ability to score. He is the best PF in the portal, but I think he can play center at FSU basketball if needed.

3. 7-0, 200lbs, ★★★★. PF/C. NC State. ISAIAH MIRANDA

Scouting Report: Isaiah was a talented prospect out of high school and never played at NC State. He has all the tools to be a great post player and would give much-needed height to the frontcourt of the Noles. Miranda has a long wingspan of 7’4″ and a reported 9’4″ standing reach. He is doing NBA workouts and could go pro if he decides it is the best move for him.

Where he fits at FSU: Another true center to help the inside game of the Noles. He can score and has the ability to make it difficult to score on defense. He should be a monster rebounding with his wingspan and reach.

Final Thoughts:

These would be my top picks from the portal at this moment, and any one of these three would be a welcomed addition to the team for Coach Hamilton and his staff.
