FSU football wide receivers coach Ron Dugans has been crushing it on the recruiting trail this cycle as he has commitments from highly-touted prospects like four-stars Camdon Frier, TJ Abrams, BJ Gibson, and Lawayne McCoy.

Even with having four wide receivers in the class, the Seminoles are still entertaining the idea of adding a fifth pass catcher.

On Sunday afternoon, FSU received some good news as Class of 2024 four-star Elijah Moore (not related to the NFL wide receiver Elijah Moore) from Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland, has included the Seminoles in his top five schools list.

The talented wide receiver included schools such as Florida State, Maryland, Michigan, Florida, and Ohio State in the school’s list.

Florida State has been in contact with Moore for quite some time, as he received an offer on March 15, 2021. The Seminoles had an opportunity to make an impression on him this spring when he visited campus on April 4, 2023.

The Seminoles have their hands full in this recruitment, as Moore will officially visit Ohio State on June 16, 2023. The Olney, Maryland, native will likely give the home-state Maryland Terrapins a chance to land him.

FSU football is looking at a variety of wide receiver options, such as five-star Joshisa Trader, four-star Ny Carr (Georgia commit), four-star Cameron Coleman, four-star James Madison II, and unranked Terence Marshall. Right now, it should be important to monitor four-star James Madison II from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as he will be announcing his decision on July 4th.

However, five-star Joshisa Trader should be at the top of the Seminoles’ recruitment board. But the Seminoles can afford to “put their eggs all in one basket” since they have four commits as the position.

That presents an interesting question: Will Moore be a wide receiver that FSU fully invests in this summer?
