FSU football: Offensive recruiting 2024 target board
TIGHT END
FSU football tight ends coach Chris Thomsen was yet another assistant coach that received some backlash from Seminole fans with his recruiting.
The Seminoles had their longtime tight end Cam McDonald exhaust his eligibility. During his five-year playing career with Florida State, McDonald had 74 receptions for 861 yards and five touchdowns. FSU had to find an answer at the tight-end position to replace his production. But it helps that the Seminoles got solid production from Markeston Douglas, who finished with 14 receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns last season.
Once again, Coach Thomsen showcased his recruiting prowess this offseason by acquiring two tight-end transfer prospects in Jaheim Bell (South Carolina) and Kyle Morlock (Shorter).
The fireworks didn’t stop there as Thomsen flipped five-star 2024 tight end prospect Landen Thomas from Georgia on April 17, 2023. Thomas was previously committed to the Seminoles from April 5, 2021, to October 3, 2021.
This move created seismic waves with the Seminoles’ recruiting efforts, where all national recruiting media outlets were buzzing about Florida State landing the talented tight-end prospect.
The Seminoles aren’t done with recruiting the tight end position either, as four-star Kylan Fox and three-star Hubert Caliste Jr. are considered prospects to monitor.
Fox is a prospect that Thomas and other members of the FSU 2024 recruiting cycle are heavily recruiting to the Seminoles on social media.
