No. 3 FSU softball (47-8, 22-2 ACC) defeated Louisville 2-1 for the series sweep. FSU senior pitcher Kathryn Sandercock got her 100th career win.

The third game in the series was much different than the first two, with only three runs scored. The Noles took a 1-0 lead on a Jose Muffley solo home run, her first home run this season.

They tacked on the eventual winning run in the bottom of the fourth on a Devyn Flaherty sacrifice fly. Allison Royalty started the game on the mound and went 2.2 innings, allowing two hits, two walks, and two strikeouts.

Sandercock finished it, pitching 4.1 innings, allowing one hit, one earned run, and two strikeouts.

The Noles only had four hits on the day, with Mack Leonard having two. Kalei Harding and Muffley’s home run were the other two hits. However, there were some hard-hit balls that found the gloves of Louisville defenders.

FSU softball didn’t lose a single ACC series this season and swept the final three ACC opponents and will be the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament. They’ll face either Syracuse or Virginia in the second round. It felt like poetic justice for many of the seniors in their final regular season game.

Sandercock picked up her 100th career win on a strikeout to end the game while sweeping Louisville. Leonard had two hits and Muffley’s first home run of the season to help the Noles get the win.

FSU will look to capture another ACC Tournament crown, while looking to avenge last year’s failure to exit the regionals as a No. 1 seed. This team has a deeper pitching staff, and has the same tenacity to never quit as past FSU teams. It’ll be interesting to see how far they can go in the next few weeks.
