FSU football head coach Mike Norvell can’t recruit high school players, they said. It might be time to put that comical narrative to bed at the rate FSU is recruiting.

The Noles got commitments from two blue-chip wide receivers last week but rocked the recruiting world Monday with the flip of five-star tight end Landen Thomas from Georgia.

However, it looks like the Noles are just getting started as they received more crystal ball predictions last Monday night for two more 2024 blue-chip players.

Five-star defensive back Charles Lester III and blue-chip offensive tackle Manasse Itete received predictions from trusted recruiting analysts with a six confidence level. Lester is a player that’s visited FSU a gazillion times.

He grew up an FSU fan and seems to recruit for FSU like he’s already a commit. Itete visited Tallahassee for the first time over the weekend for the spring showcase and came away so impressed he has already scheduled his official visit for June 23.

That will be the day FSU has most of its commits and major targets on campus, similar to how they’ve done in the past. The Noles have 11 commitments in its 2024 recruiting class, with seven listed as blue-chip players.

Lester ranks as the No. 18 player overall and No. 3 cornerback, and Itete ranks as the No. 226 player overall and No. 21 OT. Talk about star power. If those two players committed right now, it would place FSU football at No. 3 nationally. It would also give them a blue-chip ratio of 69 percent.

That’s championship-level blue-chip talent, not to mention it would be three players in the top 35 nationally and nine in the top 375. I said all along, Mike Norvell could recruit at a high level if they could improve their product on the field enough. Well, it looks like we’ve arrived at that point, folks!
