FSU football fans are used to Miami Hurricane fans popping off at the mouth whether they are good or not on the football field.

The only problem over the last two decades is they haven’t won anything whatsoever but still talk smack like it’s the early 80s all over again. They believe Mario Cristobal is their savior, but he’s drastically underwhelmed in year one and got dismantled by FSU in front of their home crowd of about 2,500 fans who left before halftime.

They love to talk about recruiting since they haven’t been winning on the field, but their 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 62 nationally with two commits(a three-star QB and a kicker).

The only problem is the QB commit isn’t who they thought they were going to get a few days ago. They had sights set on four-star QB Air Noland, but he chose Ohio State instead of Miami.

The thought was if Miami got Noland, five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith would flip to the Canes since he visited there recently. He wasn’t going to choose Miami regardless, but Miami fans have made sure that won’t be the case in the future as they have been talking wreckless on Twitter.

In a since-deleted tweet, Smith said he wouldn’t be visiting Miami again.

This is nasty work, even for Miami fans. Anyways, back to how this relates to FSU football. Jeremiah Smith is a target for the Noles, admittedly a long shot, but it’s always good to stay in the good graces in the event something crazy happens like Ohio State WR coach Brian Hartline taking another job.

That move wouldn’t be incredibly far-fetched before this past season, but he received a promotion to offensive coordinator and will likely be there for the forseeable future. Not to mention, Smith is recruiting hard for Ohio State and wanted Noland as his quarterback.

FSU already has two quality wide receiver commits in the 2024 recruiting class and could take up to two more. I know some FSU football fans can be outrageous(all fanbases have a few), but I’ve never seen FSU fans behave in the delusional realm like Miami fans.
