2023 FSU football Pro Day

It’s that time of year for those players who seek to hear their name called at the NFL Draft. This year’s crop of players for the Seminoles may not be the deepest group but some players could latch on to an NFL team and contribute in some way.

This year’s list of draft-eligible players  are:

  • S Jammie Robinson
  • G Dillian Gibbons
  • DT Robert Cooper
  • WR Ontaria Wilson
  • TE Cam McDonald
  • TE Wyatt Rector
  • EDGE Leonard Warner III
  • S Jarques McClellion
  • OT Jazston Turnetine
  • WR Mike Roussos

Let’s take a closer look at the players and where we think they may get drafted.

2nd-3rd. Jammie is a hard-hitting safety who just flies to the ball. He may not have track speed but he has game speed and quickness.. S. FSU. JAMMIE ROBINSON

UDFA. I think Dillan is a solid inside player, he came from Notre Dame and he cemented himself as the starting guard here at FSU. He has lost about 25 lbs since the season ended in hopes to get quicker. He could possibly play center or guard in the NFL, if he doesn’t get drafted he will certainly get a shot after with a team.. OG. FSU. DILLAN GIBBONS

ROBERT COOPER. UDFA. Robert came to FSU as a 4-star recruit and he had offers from big-time schools. He settled in at DT early and had some up-and-down seasons but he can be a solid depth player for a team. He eats up the middle and can move from side to side.. DT. FSU

UDFA. Leonard is an interesting player, he came to FSU as a linebacker but moved to defensive end the last couple of seasons. He never really lived up to the 4-star rating but the talent is there if he can stay healthy. He has the size to be an edge rusher in the NFL.. EDGE. FSU. LEONARD WARNER III

UDFA. Wyatt came to FSU as a QB from Western Michigan moved to TE, and stayed there. He could never really crack the starting lineup. He has been training some long snapping in hopes to be versatile and show he can contribute on special teams.. TE. FSU. WYATT RECTOR

UDFA. Cam was a highly talented TE from California and was a big get for FSU at the time. Tight end for the Noles had not had talent like his for a long time, but he never really dominated like some thought, whether it was the scheme or not great coaching. He has talent and should get some looks especially if he can shine at the pro day.. TE. FSU. CAM MCDONALD

6th-UDFA. Ontaria has always been a deep threat with his speed, and if he runs a 4.4 or lower 40 time at the pro day he could sneak into the draft late. This year’s wide receiver class has been deemed not deep by some NFL coaches and staff.. WR. FSU. ONTARIA WILSON

UDFA. Jarques came over from Arkansas through the portal and played a lot of games for the Razorbacks. He never really settled in at FSU and may be more of a special teams guy.. S. FSU. JARQUES MCCLELLION

OT. FSU. JAZSTON TURNETINE. UDFA. Jazston is a giant of a man, at 6-7 340 lbs he may be too big to play tackle but possibly right tackle if he gets a shot. He was injured in the bowl game and hopefully, he can show he has recovered to get some looks.

UDFA. Mike was more of a scout team player who hopes to showcase his skills at the pro day.. WR. FSU. MIKE ROUSSOS

Final Thoughts:

This is not the best class of players FSU has had for the draft, but there are still some depth players. I like Jammie Robinson to be a solid starting safety and Gibbons and Cooper could be on an NFL team at some point. The rest will need to find the right situation and prove themselves, at least there is the USFL and XFL for them to do that if need be. Next year could be a big year for Seminole players in the draft.
