Defensive Line

FSU football saw the lack of depth along the defensive line show vulnerability to its unit in 2022.

However, the coaching staff went portal hunting to remedy that issue and should have one of the best defensive line units in the nation in 2023.

They’ll lose Fabien Lovett, Braden Fiske, and Jared Verse after the upcoming season. Those will be massive losses, but the coaches have been accounting for that attrition over the past two recruiting cycles.

Joshua Farmer, Daniel Lyons, Antavious Woody, Darrell Jackson, Dennis Briggs, Derrick McLendon, Gilber Edmonds, Patrick Payton, Ayobami Tifase, Bishop Thomas, Jaden Jones, Byron Turner Jr, Malcolm Ray, Aaron Hester, Dante Anderson, and others will have multiple years under their belt in 2024.

Of course, there could be some attrition, but FSU has shown commitment to player retention with those they deem as potential impact players.

I would expect the same will hold after the 2023 season.
