FSU football: Why Noles are set up for long term success

FSU football had its best year on the field since the 2016 season in 2022 and is among the early favorites to win the ACC and compete for a College Football Playoff spot in 2023.

Mike Norvell has done a masterful job constructing the roster via the transfer portal and high school recruiting over the past few years.

However, the key to the FSU resurgence has been the emergence of quarterback Jordan Travis. Norvell gambled on Travis going into the 2022 season, and Travis enters the 2023 season as a potential Heisman winner.

The retention of key players like Jared Verse, Trey Benson, Johnny Wilson, Fabien Lovett, Tatum Bethune, and others are the other catalysts behind the considerable expectations in 2023.

For whatever reason, some folks believe it’ll be some one-off, and the Noles will fall off the face of the earth after the 2023 season.

However, if you follow FSU football closely, you’ll know that’s far from the truth, and Mike Norvell already has several things in place to keep the Noles from returning to a mediocre program.
