Selective at Offensive Line

FSU football offensive line coach Alex Atkins has flipped the offensive line through the transfer portal, and a few players inherited from the old regime.

The offensive line class from the 2022 recruiting cycle was one of the best hauls nationally. They will be the foundation of the offensive line in the next year or so. It’s also why Alex Atkins only added two prep offensive linemen in the 2023 recruiting class, along with a few transfers.

Those additions, coupled with a few guys from the 2021 recruiting class that could find their way into the rotation this year will allow him to be selective with prep offensive linemen in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The offensive line is a unit where you have to take players every year, but there’s a reason they’ve only offered 40 offensive linemen up until this point.

Atkins is looking to be selective again while potentially using the transfer portal since those guys are physically ready to play.

Plus, most of the portal guys they added in the 2023 class have more than one year of eligibility left.
