National Signing Day 2023 is February 1st. What can you expect from FSU football?

New FSU football linebacker commit Dylan Brown-Turner will submit his National Letter of Intent, and that will wrap up prep recruiting for the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Brown-Turner was a late addition to the class when he de-committed from North Texas Monday and committed to the Noles.

FSU signed 17 high school players in the Early Signing Period last month, with nine enrolling in the spring semester.

The remainder of the class consists of nine players from the transfer portal who all enrolled in the spring semester.

FSU football enters National Signing Day with the No. 16 class overall(high school and transfer players), and the No. 20 high school class.

The average per-player ranking for the high school players is 89.76, which is the highest since the 2018 transition class (90.91) under Willie Taggart failed to leave up to its No. 11 ranking(as most transition classes do regardless of the coach).

The Noles will likely add 1-2 more players from the transfer portal between now and the summer. They still need an experienced safety to help replace what was lost with Jammie Robinson declaring for the NFL Draft.

It’s a good thing the staff has been finished with high school recruiting for quite some time since it’s afforded them time to spend on the 2024 class and beyond.

That aspect has been key in getting so many quality players on campus for the series of Junior Days that took place last month. FSU already has double the amount of commits in the 2024 class as they had this time last year for 2023.

FSU football fans should look for this to be the norm moving forward, with the Early Signing Period in December replacing what used to happen on National Signing Day in February.
