Clemson Early

Some FSU football fans look at this as a bad thing, but I disagree. I’d rather play Clemson early because FSU returns the majority of its team from last season.

Clemson will have a young, inexperienced quarterback, plus a new offensive coordinator. That likely means it’ll take some time to work out some of the kinks on offense.

Clemson also loses some important pieces on defense, which means some lesser experienced players will be out there against a juggernaut offense.

FSU will also have the experience of playing in a big-time atmosphere earlier in the season against LSU. Clemson plays three inferior teams before hosting FSU in week four. FSU will face Boston College the week before, which shouldn’t be much of a challenge.

However, it’ll at least give FSU a chance to play in a true road game before heading to Death Valley. I’m not saying Chestnut Hill is the same as Death Valley, but they’ll have some familarity with road game routines, etc.

Clemson doesn’t scare me in the least bit with what I know FSU has on the roster. It’s all about executing what they know they can do in 2023.
