FSU football got a big-time addition to its 2024 recruiting class Thursday afternoon. Blue-chip wide receiver Tawaski Abrams announced his commitment to the Noles after offering a tease about an announcement on social media a couple of days ago.

Abrams is the second wide receiver in the class, along with legacy Camdon Frier, and the ninth commitment overall.

Abrams hails from Fort Myers, Florida, and attends Dunbar High School.

He has 20 offers from other schools like Georgia, Louisville, Tennessee, Penn State, South Carolina, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, Maryland, Colorado, and Michigan State among others:

Quick Thoughts

Abrams received his FSU offer in April 2022 after visiting earlier that month. Abrams has always liked FSU football and visited last weekend with his mother accompanying him to take in the experience.

He left the visit with FSU at the top of his list with intentions to make a commitment to a program later this summer.

However, it looks like FSU coaches turned up the heat and expedited the process. Abrams lists at 5’11” and 175 pounds and has blazing speed. He posted several verified track times below 11 seconds in the 100-meters as a sophomore, with his fastest time a wind-aided 10.62, but consistently ran between 10.77 and 10.89.

He caught 25 passes for 414 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore. Abrams will also help on the special teams unit with kickoff and punt returns. Abrams and Frier are both smaller but quicker receivers who will make great compliments to the larger receivers FSU took in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

FSU had great size with Johnny Wilson last season but lost their best deep threat from Ontaria Wilson. They have players like Ja’Khi Douglas that can get behind safeties at times. Douglas ran a personal best of 11.07 in the 100 meters in high school.

However, Abrams has a different type of speed, and that coupled with Frier and Vandrevius Jacobs from the 2023 class?

That type of speed will provide FSU will a dynamic they haven’t seen in quite some time.
