FSU football: Top impact transfer players from 2022 recruiting class
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football coaches under Mike Norvell have arguably used the transfer portal better than any college football team over the past three years to flip its roster and become a top 10-15 program after four years of awful football.
We’ve seen the quality of those transfers increase with each ensuing year, dating back to players like Fabien Lovett, Jordan Wilson, Devontay Love-Taylor, Jashaun Corbin, Jarrian Jones, and others in that first class.
Lovett, Love-Taylor, and Corbin captured All-ACC accolades, and FSU has had 10 more transfer players make All-ACC from the 2021 and 2022 transfer classes.
That includes ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2021, Jermaine Johnson, who was an NFL 1st round draft pick. Other players like Dillan Gibbons, Jammie Robinson, and Keir Thomas made All-ACC and were impact players in Tallahassee.
While the 2020 and 2021 transfer classes helped FSU become competitive again literally overnight.
It was the 2022 class that helped propel FSU back among the top programs nationally. The crazy part is three guys couldn’t contribute because of injury, and a fourth because he had to set out due to transfer rules.
I knew this class would feature several guys that would make an immediate impact when I listed the five most likely to do it.
Here are my top eight impact players from the 2022 transfer class.
