FSU football safety Jammie Robinson is one of the biggest additions from the transfer portal in recent history for the Noles.

The former South Carolina Gamecock transferred to FSU in 2021 and was a two-time First Team All-ACC selection. He led the team in tackles in both seasons, and finished the 2022 season with 99 tackles, the second most since at least the 2009 season.

Robinson was one of a handful of FSU players with a decision to make regarding returning to FSU for another season or entering the 2023 NFL Draft.

Robinson stated he had not made a decision after FSU’s win over Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl a few days ago. However, Robinson seemed to provide a hint about his decision before the game when he tweeted “last 1” via his Twitter account.

Robinson teased an announcement at midnight about his decision and announced he’ll declare for the 2023 NFL Draft:

Thoughts

It would have been great for FSU football had Robinson returned for one more year, but Robinson probably couldn’t go out on a higher note after his performance in the Cheez-It Bowl.

Robinson had 13 tackles, one sack, a pass defended, and a fumble recovery. He’s a physical player despite his stature, a sure tackler, a hard worker, and someone with outstanding leadership ability.

His draft stock will likely depend on how fast he runs at the NFL Combine, but Robinson has said all the right things about loving to play the game and being a great teammate. FSU will have a big void to fill at his safety position, plus his ability to play multiple roles in the secondary.

They’ll likely need help from the transfer portal and hope that Shyheim Brown continues to develop along with Akeem Dent returning. Jammie Robinson might be a transfer, but I hold him in the same regard as Jermaine Johnson.

He’s a Nole for life and was a great player for FSU for the past two years. Be great in the NFL Jammie!
