FSU football will likely finish with a top-15 recruiting class after their best season on the field since 2016.

The recruiting ranking isn’t as high as one would think because FSU only had 15 high school commits.

If they choose to take 10 more three-stars, the class would rank in the top 10, but FSU coaches wisely use the transfer portal for more proven players instead of taking 1-2 years to develop a random three-star.

FSU has six players committed from the transfer portal, with all of them likely becoming major contributors in 2023 after enrolling this spring. There are at least three more targets that could join the 2023 class, and potentially more depending on who else enters the transfer portal.

The coaching staff began this recruiting cycle emphasizing the the trenches on the defensive side while adding some important offensive skill players after a great start to the 2022 season.

They have met most of their needs at each position, with the only knock being players in the secondary that are not highly ranked.

However, I like the film for each and think all of them will be quality takes. FSU will look to offset that narrative with potentially bringing in 1-2 proven commodities from the transfer portal to address depth and experience.

FSU checks in with the No. 18 recruiting class, with the potential to add four high school commits. Here are all of the commits below and the potential targets. I’ll update this each time a player officially signs(transfer players don’t sign, they just enroll at the school):

  • Hykeem Williams (signed)
  • Keldric Faulk (Flips to Auburn)
  • Lucas Simmons (signed)
  • Blake Nichelson (signed)
  • Keith Sampson (signed)
  • Lamont Green Jr. (signed)
  • Vandrevius Jacobs (signed)
  • Samuel Singleton (signed)
  • Brock Glenn (signed)
  • Darren Lawrence (signed)
  • Kenton Kirkland (signed)
  • Ja’Bril Rawls (signed)
  • Jaden Jones (signed)
  • Quindarrius Jones (signed)
  • Demarco Ward (signed)

Other notable FSU football targets (high school):

  • Conrad Hussey (Penn State commit)
  • Edwin Joseph (selects FSU)
  • Christopher Otto (selects FSU)
  • Andy Jean (signed with Florida)
