I said quarterback play for FSU football could be a game-changer for the offense in 2022 before the season began. It’s safe to say Jordan Travis ascended to a level of play nobody thought was possible, even his staunchest supporters.

Albeit, one of the biggest concerns was his inability to avoid injuries and stay on the field. FSU got the compound effect, a healthy Jordan Travis(for the most part), and a level of play no one expected.

The FSU offense also saw the addition of much-needed playmakers from the transfer portal at wide receiver.

The additions to the offensive line from the transfer portal played a significant part in the improvement of the offense.

Trey Benson went from a player FSU fans clowned the coaching staff for taking from the portal, to one they most adored for his ability as the season progressed.

FSU went from No. 45 via FEI advanced metrics through 12 games last year to No. 8. Guess where the offense in Mike Norvell’s final year at Memphis ranked at the end of the year?

No. 8.

In a short amount of time, Mike Norvell made the FSU football offense the most explosive in the nation. Let’s take a look at how much they improved in certain areas.
