FSU football has been one of the hottest programs in college football over the past three weeks.

The Noles dismantled Georgia Tech, Miami, and Syracuse. They covered double-digit betting lines with ease and will enter this week’s game against Louisiana as 23.5-point betting favorites.

Most advanced metrics ranked between No. 10-15 nationally, and the latest composite rankings have the Noles at No. 13.

The Noles received a the No. 20 ranking in the latest AP Poll this week.

They entered the College Football Playoff Ranking at No. 23 last week. However, Tuesday’s latest rankings saw the Noles improve their ranking to No. 19.

Clemson and North Carolina are the only two ACC teams ranked ahead of the Noles, and those two will likely meet in the ACC Championship. North Carolina has been propped up by a cotton candy schedule, but they did squeak past Wake Forest last week, who defeated FSU earlier in the year.

However, if I had to wager, I’d take the Noles over Clemson, North Carolina, and Wake Forest since the defense is much healthier.

There are a few teams ranked above the Noles in the College Football Playoff that I’d take the Noles over right now. There’s a reason all of the advanced metrics have the Noles right up there with Clemson.

The Tigers are the more talented team, but it’s a testament to what Mike Norvell and the coaching staff have done in Tallahassee in a short amount of time.

The Noles will have a good shot to finish the regular season 9-3 with wins over Louisiana and Florida, which would give them a good shot to finish in the top 10-15 range.

It would also mean the Noles are state champs and neither of these has happened since the end of the 2016 season. This program is heading in the right direction!
