Defends Pass

Georgia Tech’s ability to defend the pass makes getting the running game going so important. Georgia Tech allows teams to complete 57.6 percent of their passes (No. 35 nationally) at 6.5 ypa (No. 32 nationally) and has only allowed nine touchdowns (No. 33 nationally).

On the flip side, they have nine interceptions (No. 17 nationally), and quarterbacks only have a 117.41 rating (No. 21 nationally).

Opposing offenses average 33 passing attempts per game (No. 80 nationally) and 215.1 yards per game (No. 47 nationally).

Georgia Tech has 32 passes defended (No. 52 nationally) and 23 passes broken up (No. 75). If they don’t get a hand on it, or intercept it, usually it’s not going to be complete, and they don’t get beat over the top too much.

Georgia Tech doesn’t have a ton of QB sacks (15), and Georgia Tech only allows touchdowns 52 percent (No. 35 nationally) once offenses enter the red zone.

I say that to say, FSU will need to be efficient with their playcalling once they get into the red zone and will likely need to get into the end zone via the run game.
