FSU football, a.k.a. the box office boys, will be off this week after a tough three-game stretch that saw them lose their last three games against ranked teams.

This second bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for several banged-up players to heal and for other guys that have missed multiple games more time to get closer to returning to action. FSU has five games remaining, beginning with Georgia Tech on October 29th.

It will be the first-noon kickoff after playing six night games and one kickoff at 3:30 p.m. While it’s a cool atmosphere inside Doak Campbell Stadium at night, it does kinda suck having to wait all day for the game if you can’t make it to the stadium.

However, if you go to a nooner, the Florida heat is a beast. FSU fans chimed in with their thoughts when the Georgia Tech game time got announced Monday afternoon:

What to hear something that will make you envious? I’ll be flying to Hawaii next week and will have to get up at 6 a.m to watch the game. I was praying for a noon kickoff so I could watch the game before we head out for the day to sight-see, etc.

It’ll also give me time to provide the great content you’ve come to expect from Chop Chat once the game is over. It’s a game FSU football should win although the Yellow Jackets seemed to have found a bit of life since firing head coach Geoff Collins a couple of weeks ago.

They will play a terrible Virginia team Thursday night and will go into the FSU football contest with a couple of extra days’ rest. FSU last played Georgia Tech in the 2020 season opener, with Georgia Tech coming from behind to win behind former FSU QB commit Jeff Sims. It’s a revenge game, indeed.
