FSU football will host No. 4 ranked Clemson Saturday night in Doak Campbell Stadium. The betting lines opened with Clemson as a touchdown favorite, but that line has bet down to FSU +3.5 at most sportsbooks.

That likely raises a few eyebrows considering Clemson is undefeated, and FSU has lost their last two games. Clemson has beaten those two teams that beat FSU, but that doesn’t tell the entire story and is likely why the betting line has gotten so low aside from taking place in Tallahassee.

FSU has played one more Power 5 team than Clemson, but the strength of the schedule is similar. The two teams have played three common opponents: Wake Forest, NC State, and Boston College.

Those three games are the most recent between these two programs and should help explain the fine line between staying undefeated and losing a couple of close games.

The narrative is Clemson’s defense is one of the best units in college football, with their offense still trying to find its footing after falling off a cliff last year.

FSU’s defense has been solid, with its offense looking like world beaters and times and others non-existent. Let’s see how these teams fared against three common opponents.
