FSU football will welcome Wake Forest to Doak Campbell Stadium Saturday afternoon with the chance to improve to 5-0.

The game will likely not have the home crowd it would have originally had due to the effects of Hurricane Ian a couple of days ago. However, at least 66,000 fans will be in attendance as FSU allowed displaced Floridians to claim up to four tickets.

If we couple that with Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson saying Doak might have a crowd similar to Vanderbilt(due to the Hurricane), I expect the crowd to be a bit more lively than usual.

A win against Wake Forest would be the first major hurdle in a series of games against ranked opponents.

FSU football vs. Wake Forest: The Weather

Saturday will have a high of 86 degrees, 40 percent humidity, and sunny with a 10 percent chance of rain. There will be winds up to 9 mph, which might be enough to affect Wake Forest’s passing game.

FSU football vs. Wake Forest: Betting Odds

The Noles are -7 betting favorites in this matchup, with the over/under coming in at 66. That implies a 37-30 outcome in the game. A lot of FSU football seems pessimistic the spread favors the Noles that much. However, this year’s team is much different than last year.

Plus, the stadium will be rocking, and the players played well off of the energy from the crowd last week. FSU will be without a couple of key players that would make this an easier game.

However, FSU has a more complete team across all three phases, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see FSU cover the spread. I predicted a 38-27 win on the Built For Playmakers Podcast earlier this week.

The under might be worth a play since everyone seems to be betting the over. I can see FSU emphasizing the run to control the clock and forcing Wake Forest to run it more than they want, which keeps the clock rolling.
