FSU football went on the road and beat the Louisville Cardinals with their backup QB playing three quarters and missing three starters on defense.

If you would have said Tate Rodemaker would play three-quarters and Fabien Lovett, Jared Verse, and Omarion Cooper would either not play or miss significant time in the game?

I’d said Louisville would win by double-digits. However, the Noles overcome those injuries, plus two turnovers and two missed field goals, to cover the betting spread for the third time this year.

This win meant a lot for the program because Mike Norvell can point to it for several reasons. There’s a five-star wide receiver who’ll be announcing his commitment next week, and Johnny Wilson’s performance is something Mike Norvell can point to in his favor.

FSU has already been hit by the injury bug a lot, so getting this win to move to 3-0 could come in handy should multiple players miss a significant amount of time.

A win like this continues to support the message Mike Norvell gives to these players each week. The willingness to invest the time to get better will pay off, and a handful of plays is the difference in FSU as a 3-0 team or a 1-2 team.

Here are my three major takeaways.
